Named for Founder Doro Princic, the Princic estate is located in the Collio DOC area of Italy’s northeastern Friuli region, one of the smallest growing areas in the country. Its white wines have been respected for many years as the very best of Italy, with three quarters of the Princic estate planted with white varietals such as Friulano, Pinot Bianco and Malvasia. These grapes are known to have the best balance of elegant aromas and full-bodied weight on the palate. The estate also produces a delicious Merlot.
Made from 100% Pinot Bianco from estate vineyards trained in the Guyot method. Vinification is carried out entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel. The wine is aged and refined for one year in stainless steel tanks before release.
Tasting Notes
Bread crust and fruity aromas of pear, lime and orange are the highlight of this delicious wine.
Food Pairing
Pair with almond crusted trout, falafel, or cucumber salad.
Green-tinged pale straw color. Melon and white peach on the nose are complicated by hints of arugula, powdered stones, and beeswax. Soft honeydew and stone fruit flavors are given a noteworthy lift by a strong white flower presence contributing delightful inner-mouth perfume. The classically dry, mineral finish features a gentle lift. This will be very flexible at the table, where it will make a wonderful aperitif or provide an easy match with more complex vegetable and fish dishes. 94 points Ian D'agata Vinous Media
